6 days and no change for Liam
I woke up this morning and was feeling quite better. I let Jill sleep in a little since she has had to deal with all 4 boys for the past couple days. This is the 6th day of Liam taking a 1/2 capsule of anafranil and we don't see any behavior change. Hopefully we do by week 3 when he takes one in the morning and one at night. Until then we'll just keep moving on.
Liam's behavior was still impulsive and at times out of control. Liam would regularly make a mess out of a room and walk away. When asked to clean it up, it was a struggle and he never did. Liam was caught several times climbing and jumping around on furniture, throwing cushions around, and bouncing in the crib still in Aidan's room. Liam's behavior at times I found was sneaky. On a couple of occasions cans of pop were on the counter and I heard and saw him trying to scale the counter to reach them. When he saw me he would get down and run. At one point when Seamus was eating and Liam sneaked up on Seamus and took his pop and started drinking it. This is a perfect example of his impulsive behavior. He could not control his want for pop. I would then ask him what he was doing and would not get an answer that made any sense. Either he didn't understand the question (which is most likely) or he was intentionally being evasive. The boys asked for a bucket we had with a bunch of hot wheel cars in it. I gave it to them and they played for a short time with it. During this time Liam and Brendan wanted to play in the basement. I said sure. At one point I saw Liam going down with a couple of cars and Brendan right behind. I asked what they were doing with the cars downstairs and I saw Liam go towards the furnace / sump pump area and that raised a red flag. I went down and asked what was going on. Liam just hid and Brendan pointed to the corner by the sump pump which I didn't see anything. I then sighed and took the lid off the sump and found 4 hot wheels, 2 computer game cd's, and a dvd cover in the water. Liam obviously had put the cd's and dvd in their for some reason. Instead of getting angry, I asked him why he did it. His responses were "where's woody", "have you seen buzz and jesse". The rest of the afternoon Liam and his brothers Aidan and Brendan spent a lot of time being silly chasing each other around and wrestling on the floor. At times it is quite funny and entertaining to watch them. The evening was pretty quiet for Liam as he went to sleep around 8:30.
Sunday we will start him on a 1/2 capsule of anafranil in the morning and then at bedtime with the melatonin. A new week will start and so will a fresh round of hope for Liam. Stay tuned for this week's updates!
